Recent activities included a three-day session on bowl turning in Mirfield, led by Richard Findley and Colwin Way. Additionally, I completed a commission for a 4kg exercise mace with a sapele and oak design, finished in Danish oil.

    The Register of Professional Turners and the Worshipful Company of Turners have supported the Emerging Turners Programme, helping early-career woodturners develop skills through intensive workshops. I have secured a spot in this year’s program. Additionally, I became an AWGB Approved Tutor following an assessment by John Boyne-Aitken and will soon offer lessons.

    In January, I was thrilled to be shortlisted for the New Ashgate Rising Stars award for my Suffolk Oak Burr. The exhibition opens in Farnham on 16 March and lasts until 27 April. I’m also collaborating with Creative Nature HQ to offer turning lessons at their Thames Barrier workshop.

    The autumn has begun busily with the arrival of a new Stratos XL lathe, allowing for larger creations. Between November and December, there are three shows scheduled: Handmade Chelsea, Lakeside Arts Centre, and Dulwich College’s Christmas fair, where larger pieces, including a 15” Walnut platter, will be showcased.
