It’s been a busy start to the autumn. A few weeks ago I took delivery of a new lathe, a Stratos XL, which is significantly bigger than my old lathe. With a 3HP motor, it can turn bowls and platters up to 1m wide and spindles up to 1.2m long, which hugely increases the scope of what I can make.

And just in time, because between November and December I have three shows! The first, Handmade Chelsea, will be at Chelsea Old Town Hall from 9-12 November. I will then be at Lakeside Arts Centre and finally at Dulwich College’s Christmas fair. I’ll be showing some of my bigger pieces, such as this 15” platter in Walnut.
